Canadian Embassy in Nepal
What is the location of Canadian Embassy in Nepal? I am a professor of Civil Engineering and want to apply for the PR of Canada. I don’t want to go through the consultancy as they charge a lot of fee. Instead, I want to apply it on my own. But before that I would like to go and consult in the Embassy of Canada. Do they have counseling facilities? Please let me know where is Canadian Embassy in Nepal. Also let me know the procedure of applying for PR in Canada if anyone knows.
No, we don’t have any Embassy of Canada for Nepal. Instead, what we have is Canadian Consulate. The Consulate Office of Canada is located at: 47 Lal Durbar Marg, Kathmandu, Nepal. This Canadian consulate reports to High Commission of Canada (Canadian Embassy) located in New Delhi, India which does all the processing of VISA.
The contact details are as follows:
Email: [email protected]
The Consulate of Canada hours of operation are:
Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 12:00
Saturday – Sunday: Closed
“Consulate” is an extension of Embassy. In other words it is a representative body or sub-branch of Embassy Office. Not every country have an Embassy. According to wiki “A consulate is similar to (but not the same as) a diplomatic office, but with focus on dealing with individual persons and businesses, as defined by the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. A consulate or consulate general is generally a representative of the embassy in locales outside of the capital city.“
A consulate may be outside the city where Embassy is located or in the neighboring countries. You may get surprised to know that even we don’t have Embassy of Australia in Nepal. But we have their consulate here. And our all visa processing is handled by Australian Embassy in India. So, in this case Australian or Canadian Embassy in India has consulate here in Nepal and whole things are processed through them.
